SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A traffic stop in Scioto County ended with the driver being arrested for drug trafficking.
The Ohio Highway Patrol stopped the car for a lane violation along U.S. 23 near the 8 mile marker just before 10 p.m. Friday.
Troopers say as the driver, Jerome Saunders, 58, of Columbus, Ohio, was getting out of the car, he threw an object into a nearby corn field.
Troopers searched the area and found the object, which contained 48 grams of cocaine worth more than $4,000.
Saunders was charged with possession of cocaine, drug trafficking, and tampering with evidence
He was taken to the Scioto County Jail.
