PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Ohio Highway Patrol says loaded guns, marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin, cocaine and thousands of illegal prescription pills were seized in separate traffic stops in Scioto County Tuesday.

The first traffic stop happened on U.S. 23 near milepost 15 about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Inside the car that was stopped for speeding, troopers say they found 100 grams of marijuana, seven ounces of heroin, 14 ounces of cocaine and 6,500 illegal prescription pills -- worth an estimated $175,000.

The driver, Lenward Pulliam, 30, and passenger, Harold Chapple, 25, both of Detroit, Mich., were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, and possession of heroin.

If convicted, the men face up to 30 years in prison and up to a $60,000 fine.

Roughly six hours later, troopers say they stopped another car for speeding along U.S. 23 at the 8 mile marker.

Inside that car, troopers say they found a loaded Springfield XD 40 caliber gun, a loaded .38 Special, 29 grams of crack cocaine and 45 grams of marijuana. The drugs have an estimated value of nearly $10,000.

The driver, Leon Brihm 22, and passenger, Jeffrey E. Howard, 24, both of Columbus, were arrested and charged with drug abuse, and having weapons under a disability.

If convicted, the men face up to 15 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
