Two Arrested in Portsmouth Drug Bust

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two men are behind bars after police say they were busted with drugs at a parking lot in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Police and the Scioto County Sheriff's Office say the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force made a bust about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2300-block of 17th Street in Portsmouth.

Police say Rodney E. Smith, 33, of Portsmouth, and Roger E. Turner III, 40, of Portsmouth, were arrested on drug charges.

Officers seized seven grams of heroin, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana and $449 in cash from the men.

The men are both scheduled to be in court next week.
