UPDATE: Two Killed, Two Injured in Head-on Crash in Meigs County

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – Two people are dead and two others hurt after a head-on crash on State Route 124 in Syracuse, Ohio.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers tell WSAZ.com the crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers say Colton T. Hawk, 23, of Mason, W.Va. was driving a car eastbound when his car drifted left of the center line and hit another car, driven by Scott G. Exline, 28, of Syracuse, Ohio. The cars hit head-on. Troopers say Hawk and one of his passengers, Darla D. Hoffman, 42, of Mason, W.Va. were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Meigs County Coroner.

A 3-year-old child was also in the car. Troopers say the child was transported to the hospital. Exline, the driver of the second car, was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

No word yet on their conditions.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating what caused the crash.

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two people are dead following a head-on crash near Syracuse, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on State Route 124 about a mile east of Syracuse.

The names of those killed in the crash have not yet been released, and it's unclear whether anybody else was hurt.
