HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two men that investigators say were involved in a home invasion in Lawrence County, Ohio, were captured in Huntington, a short time after the alleged crime happened.

West Virginia State Police arrested Joseph Workman, 38, of Barboursville, and Scott Edie, II, 23, of Huntington, following a traffic stop on U.S. 60 near Bonnie Boulevard shortly before noon on Thursday.

The alleged break-in happened at a home in Chesapeake, Ohio just before 11 a.m.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim’s son, who was home at the time of the home invasion, took a picture of the pickup truck the suspects were driving as it was leaving the house.

Police were then alerted that the truck may be heading into West Virginia. A short time later, the truck was spotted on Route 60 and stopped.

Troopers say during a search of Edie, jewelry allegedly taken from the home was found in his pocket. Inside the truck the men were driving, investigators say they found four guns, and a guitar taken from the home.

Then later, during a search of the apartment of Edie’s girlfriend, investigators say they found additional stolen items.

Investigators estimate $15,000 worth of items were stolen from the home.

The men were charged with bringing stolen property into the state and being fugitives from justice.

Warrants have also been issued for the men in Lawrence County, Ohio. They will be charged with aggravated burglary.

Detective Aaron Bollinger tells that when he interviewed the two men after they were arrested, they both confessed to the crimes.

The men remain in the Western Regional Jail pending extradition back to Ohio.
