CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall will continue to serve as the ranking Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

The West Virginia Democrat says the House Democratic Caucus selected him as the panel's top Democrat on Wednesday.

Rahall says he's confident that the committee can help meet the nation's economic challenges if its members return to a bipartisan tradition.
