W.Va. Auditor Gainer Re-Elected to 6th Term

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia Auditor Glen Gainer has been re-elected to his sixth term as the state's official bookkeeper.

Gainer defeated Republican former legislator Larry Faircloth of Berkeley County. Gainer was first elected in 1992. He succeeded his father, who had held the position since 1977.

The auditor's office reviews the finances of both state and local government offices, among other duties.
