CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A two-term West Virginia legislator has unseated Senate Majority Whip Richard Browning in the Democratic primary.
Delegate Daniel Hall edged out the fellow Wyoming County lawmaker by 200 votes Tuesday in the 9th Senate District race.
Browning became majority whip last year in the leadership team of Senate President Jeff Kessler.
Hall ran for the Senate after being elected to the House of Delegates in 2008 and 2010.
Hall advances to the general election along with Republican Epp Cline, who was unopposed in his primary.
