CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An accident involving a motorcycle and a van sent a 10-year-old boy to the hospital Friday night, West Virginia State Police say.

It happened about 7 p.m. Friday on Cedar Crest Drive, located off of W.Va. 10.

Troopers said the motorcycle and van were close to the center line and knicked each other, causing the motorcycle to crash.

A father and his 10-year-old son were on the motorcycle. The boy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Residents said it is a dangerous road, and people need to slow down.

"People speed all the time like this right here," resident Mary Strouse said. "Seriously, they should be doing like 35 (mph). I can have my little girl down here to catch the school bus, and cars will actually skid to a stop because the school bus is stopped right here, and they come flying around corners. It's ridiculous."

No one else was hurt in the crash.
