UPDATE 1/30/14 @ 11:14 p.m.
NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- For the past six months, Bethany Layton has gotten used to seeing endless amounts of cars parked outside her house on Bailes Drive in Nitro.

"Any cars coming in and out like that seem suspicious," said Layton.

However, Thursday those cars had lights and sirens.

"Not surprised at all," said Layton. "Figured it was about time."

The Metro Drug Unit, comprised of several agencies in Kanawha and Putnam Counties raided this apartment next to Layton's home.

Inside, they found prescription drugs and thousands of dollars in cash.

"It's a large enough quantity that I can definitely say, 'It's possession with intent to distribute,'" said Major David Richardson with the Nitro Police Department.

Police originally detained all 13 people inside and eventually took 22-year-old Gregory Linsey Jr. into custody.

However, it's where Linsey is from that is raising eyebrows.

"The southern part of West Virginia, a lot of our problem comes from Detroit," said Major Richardson. "A lot of the pills are coming from Detroit."

It's a 350 mile pill-pipeline that they are trying to choke off.

An issue that's been slowly pushed out of Huntington and now appears to be moving east.

"You take the supply out, you can control the demand," said Major Richardson.

Linsey is facing a charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute.

While the other 12 people were free to go after being detained, they could still face charges based on their continuing investigation.
