I-77 South Reopens in Jackson County After Ice Issues

UPDATE 2/8/14 @ 11 a.m.
JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The southbound lanes of I-77 in Jackson County are back open.

The interstate was closed between Ripley and Ravenswood because of black ice and a five car crash.

Dispatchers tell, the road has been salted and the crash has been removed from the roadway.

Only minor injuries were reported in the accident.

JACKSON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The southbound lanes of Interstate 77 in Jackson County, W.Va. are closed after an accident.

The accident was reported about 8 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-77 between Ripley and Ravenswood.

Ripley Firefighters tell five vehicles were involved in the crash. Black ice is believed to have caused it.

No word on any injuries.

Again, the southbound lanes are closed at this time.
