CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man police say fled twice when being questioned about two armed robberies is now in jail.
Charles Wentz, 32, was being questioned about the robberies when police say he took off.
They later found him in an apartment on the 800 block of 17th Street, but say he ran from them again.
After searching for about an hour, police found Wentz hiding in a nearby coal car.
He has been arrested in connection with fleeing and remains a person of interest in the robberies.
The two robberies happened early Sunday morning at the 7-Eleven on 5th Avenue and the BP Station on 16th Street.
Police are also looking into the possibility that Wentz may be connected to two other armed robberies that happened in Huntington last week. However, they say it's too early in the investigation to know whether Wentz is the man they're looking for.
Wentz is being held at the Western Regional Jail on a $3,000 bond.
The first robbery happened at a 7-Eleven on 5th Avenue about 5:30 a.m.
Then just after 8 a.m. another robbery happened at the BP Station on 16th Street.
Cabell County 911 dispatchers say police arrested a suspect in connection with both robberies about 11:15 a.m.
The suspect's name has not yet been released.
