UPDATE: Man Swept Away in High Water, Name Released

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Sheriff Deputies in Putnam County have released the name of a man who was swept away by high water Monday night.

Deputies say John Mobley, 64, was clearing away debris near his home on Bear Branch Road around 6:30 p.m. when he was carried away by high water.

His body was found a short time later in some brush.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The body of a man swept away by high water in the Buffalo area was recovered Monday night, Putnam County Sheriff's deputies say.

The man was working along a ditch line on Bear Branch Road when he was swept away. That happened about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

His body was found in some brush.

The man's name has not been released.
