NEW INFO: Investigators Searching for Cause of Deadly Nicholas County Fire

UPDATE 1/22/13 @ 5:35 p.m.
NICHOLAS, COUNTY, W.Va (WSAZ) -- Investigators are still working to find the cause of a fire that killed two men Monday.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office tells WSAZ.com that they are still waiting to hear back from the state medical examiner as to the cause of death for the two men.

Family members told WSAZ.com that Delbert Cutlip, 57, and James "Bud" Freeman, 62, died late Monday afternoon when their house caught fire along Route 55.

Freeman's wife was able to make it out safely. They believe he died trying to save Cutlip, who was bedridden, according to family members.

At this time, the Fire Marshal's Office says preliminary results point to the fire being accidental.

NICHOLAS, COUNTY, W.Va (WSAZ) -- Family members tell WSAZ.com two men died Monday in a house fire in the Muddlety area of Nicholas County.

Delbert Cutlip, 57, and James "Bud" Freeman, 62, died late Monday afternoon when their house caught fire along Route 55.

Family members say Freeman's wife was able to make it out safely. They believe he died trying to save Cutlip, who was bedridden.

Investigators are working to determine what started the fire.

NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The State Fire Marshal's Office has a crew headed to a fire in Nicholas County, where they say there is the possibility of fatalities.

Nicholas County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that the fire is at a home off Route 55, just north of Summersville.

The State Fire Marshal's Office tells WSAZ.com that there are possible fatalities in the fire.
