UPDATE 6/16/12 @ 6:09 PM
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Dried up pools of blood is all that's left after a man fired at his girlfriend, took off, and turned the gun on himself.
Police say Larry Boner, 45, of St. Albans, fired shots at his on-again, off again girlfriend, Joyce Good, 41, of South Charleston outside the 7-11 store.
The violence may have culminated at the 7-11 on the corner of Spring Street and Bigley Avenue, however, the trouble began miles away.
"He had gone to South Charleston to her home, forced her to get in the car, at which time he said he was going to go to Elkview," Sergeant Bobby Eggleton said. "She's been interviewed -- and at one point she said she needed to get gas, that's why they stopped at 7-11. When she stopped she told the clerk to call 911, that he has a gun, he fired three times -- striking her one time -- and then fled the scene."
Officers say this is not the first time there had been a domestic dispute between Good and Boner.
Bonnie Hissom lives a couple blocks away from the 7-11, where she found Boner’s body.
"When I came downstairs, I went and looked out that bathroom window and it was right there -- he was laying right there, face down," said Hissom.
To say she was shocked by the gruesome discovery is an understatement.
"It just was a little scary, it was a little scary. I didn't know what happened," said Hissom.
And for what did happen, Hissom says is out of the ordinary.
Still, she says it’s a safe neighborhood and has no reason to be concerned for her safety.
"No, I've never been afraid or apprehensive -- and I'm still not."
Good is listed in good condition in CAMC, but did not want to speak with WSAZ.com Saturday afternoon.
