UPDATE 9/1/13 @ 3:45 p.m.
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man who had been missing for more than a week has been found safe and sound in Houston, Texas.

According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, Daniel Joseph O'Neal was disoriented and wasn't sure where he was when he spoke to his family, Sunday morning.

Deputies say O'Neal was able to get in touch with the Houston Police Department, and officers there were able to find him.

The circumstances surrounding O'Neal's ten-day disappearance are still unclear.

Deputies say they along with O'Neals family and friends have been working around the clock to find him, and they are anxiously awaiting to speak with him.

O'Neal's dark green Toyota Solara with WV registration number DNT677 is still missing.

Anyone with any further information is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

UPDATE 8/31/13 @ 11:00 p.m.
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- For the women of The Harper's Market, business lately has been anything but usual.

“It’s really sad, it's like you lost not only a customer but a buddy, a friend,” cook Jamie Jarrell said.

Boone County deputies say Daniel “DJ” O’Neal has been missing for 10 days.

His Facebook shows he last checked in August 21 at a Starbucks in Beckley.

“You worry about him, because you don't really know the circumstances surrounding … you don't know if you'll ever really find out,” Jarrell said.

O’Neal is from Oceana but lives in a camper in the Bim section of Boone County. He lives beside the coal mine where he works, and just half a mile from one of his favorite places to eat: Harper’s Market.

“We saw him every single day and to hear that no one knows where he's at -- it's scary,” said cashier Leigh Ann Smith.

O’Neal’s disappearance comes on the heels of another missing persons case, just miles away from Bim. A Boone County man found a woman in the woods of Twilight after someone reported seeing her abandoned car. Charlene Hankins had been missing for 12 days.

Deputies say unlike Hankins’ case, no one has reported seeing O’Neal’s green Toyota Solara.

Jarrell and Smith say they realize time isn’t on their side but are hoping for the best.

“I'm really worried about him,” Jarrell said.” I miss him a lot. I really wish they'd figure something out.”
