BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A multi-county theft ring has been busted, now two people are behind bars.

Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com they arrested Clinton Hall and Vernon Estep Friday morning. They are accused of breaking into several businesses across Fayette County.

Deputies say they stole large amounts of cash from the businesses.

Hall is also facing charges in Boone County.

Deputies say he broke into the BP gas station on Route 119 in Danville on Sunday.

They also believe he is responsible for a break-in at the Exxon in Danville Thursday morning.

More arrests are expected in the case.

Clinton Hall, 38, was arrested Friday in Fayette County. He is in the Southern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.

Boone County Sheriff Rodney Miller says Hall is being charged in connection with breaking into the BP gas station on Route 119, Sunday.

Miller says they believe Hall is also responsible for breaking into the Exxon gas station on Route 119, Thursday morning.

Police arrested the man they say broke into several businesses last month -- only to almost immediately have another burglar take his place.

Cop cars and caution tape surrounded the Exxon gas station on Route 119 in Danville, Thursday morning.

“Employees when they reported this morning found that it had been broken into and they had been ripped off,” Boone County Sheriff Rodney Miller said.

Miller says someone pried their way in through a drive thru window and then broke into the safe and an ATM.

Deputies believe it's the same person who broke into the BP gas station about a quarter of a mile away, Sunday.

Tim Riggs owns Medicap Pharmacy in downtown Danville. His business was broken into last month.

“You work hard. You don't know what they've done. You feel violated,” Riggs said.

The silver lining is that police caught the guy red-handed. Paul Heater was arrested inside the pharmacy in connection with breaking into it and a couple of other businesses.

He's still in jail, so that means businesses are dealing with yet another burglar.

“It is discouraging, but we're operating in tough economic times right now. We hope it's not the case, but if it gets any worse, that will see more type incidents like this,” Miller said.

“I only feel it's going to get worse. There's a lot of people laid off. There are a lot of drug addicts in our area,” Riggs said.

Miller says they do have a suspect, but no arrests have been made. He says the person they're looking for is not from the area.

Investigators believe the same person broke into the BP on Route 119 this past Sunday. Sheriff Miller says the person isn't local.

So far no one has been charged in the break-ins.
