CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston's first indoor playground will soon open up at the Charleston Town Center Mall.
At a news conference Tuesday, CAMC announced its sponsoring the new play area.
The new play area will be located on the first floor near JCPenney.
The "CAMC Play Patch" will be made of fruits and vegetables to support the national "5-2-1-0" campaign -- five fruits and vegetables each day, less than two hours of screen time, and one hour of vigorous activity and zero sugary drinks, according to the news release.
"As the largest provider of pediatrics services in southern WV, we're committed to not only taking care of the region's children when they're ill, but also to improving their overall health," said Dave Ramsey, CAMC President and CEO. "We have been a leader in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity and this playscape is a wonderful way for us to reach many more children."
CAMC will also sponsor the mall's recent addition of a new family restroom on the third floor. The restroom will feature curtained areas for nursing mothers who want privacy, as well as toddler-sized toilets, lounge and a sink and microwave to prepare baby bottles, according to the release.
The CAMC Play Patch will open Monday, December 17. The family restroom will be completed in a few weeks.
