CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A plan that would change the way state workers are paid moved forward Monday night.

The West Virginia Senate approved a plan to pay state workers every two weeks. Currently, they get paid twice a month.

With the change, state workers would get 26 paychecks a year instead of 24.

The bill now goes to the House of Delegates.
