LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man from Chapmanville was killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says David C. Bryant, 50, was driving west on County Rt. 7 near Chapmanville just before 1:30 a.m. when he lost control, went over an embankment and into a small stream along Garret’s Fork.

Deputies say when first responders arrived on the scene, Mr. Bryant was still inside his car which was partially submerged and on its top in the water.

After being extricated, he was taken to Logan Regional Medical Center where he died several hours later.

No word what caused the crash.
