Charleston Trying to Build Splash Park at Magic Island

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The city of Charleston could soon have a new place to cool off during the summer months.

City Council announced during its meeting Monday that its trying to build a splash park at Magic Island on the Kanawha Boulevard.

Council voted to apply for a grant from the "Building Better Communities" program. It asks for $150,000 to make the park a reality.

The city of Hurricane opened a splash park at its city park a few years ago.
