Church Broken into for Third Time

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Members of a congregation say their sanctuary has been cursed with an unholy trinity of sorts.

Souls Harvest Church in Cross Lanes has been broken into three times in the past three years.

The most recent break-in was Thursday.

Pastor Gary Toler says they’ve had everything stolen from keyboards and drum kits to air conditioning units.

Toler says the thefts total more than $17,000 worth of property.

"The Bible said men's conscience would be seared,” Pastor Toler’s wife Missy Toler said. “I think that's where we're at.”

The preacher is now praying a higher power will intervene.

"I hope what would come out of it more than anything is that conviction would come up on the guy that's doing it, and he would give his life to the Lord," Pastor Toler said.

The Tolers say a neighbor saw someone taking things from the church Thursday. That neighbor got the license plate number and gave it to Cross Lanes Police.
