Dog Saves Two from Burning Home

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people are still alive thanks to their dog that woke them up when their house caught fire.

The fire happened about 8:45 p.m. Saturday in West Side, near St. Albans.

Firefighters say it started in the kitchen. The cause remains under investigation.

Two people were asleep inside the home at the time. Firefighters say the dog saved their lives.

One person did suffer smoke inhalation, but was not taken to the hospital.
