Dunkin' Donuts to Open in Hurricane

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A popular coffee and breakfast restaurant is expected to open in the city of Hurricane.

City Manager Ben Newhouse tells WSAZ.com Dunkin' Donuts will soon open off the Hurricane exit of Interstate 64.

The restaurant will be part of the Little General Store on Hurricane Creek Road. A manager at the store says the current convenience store will be demolished and a new store along with Dunkin' Donuts will open. The current store will become a parking lot.

The new Little General Store will reopen with not only a new building, but new pumps, including diesel fuel.

Construction began on the new store a few weeks ago. The manager says the goal is to have the new store open by this fall.

Newhouse also tells WSAZ.com Speedway has filed building plans to open a new location along Route 60 in Hurricane. Family Dollar has also filed plans with the city to build a new location in Hurricane across the street from Walgreens, according to Newhouse.

Newhouse says no construction dates have been set yet on those two projects.
