UPDATE 10/27/13 @ 7:01 p.m.
ELKVIEW, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The shattered parts of two cars are all that's left on Frame Road in Elkview. For the family of Candy Lachea Poling- the broken pieces serve as painful reminders of Saturday night's fatal accident.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com that Poling was driving along Frame Road near the intersection of Pequonia Drive when her car collided with another. Deputies pronounced her dead on the scene.

Poling’s cousin and best friend Kim Midkiff says the news has left the family reeling.

“It's not real, it's like a dream,” Midkiff said. ”You're waiting for that person to call you and say that it was the wrong person, that it didn't happen.”

The victim’s family says Poling was on her way home from work at the time. She had two jobs and was in school at the University of Charleston, working to become a nurse but she loved most being a mother. She had two girls and her family says she was currently 16 weeks pregnant.

“Candy's girls meant everything to her,” Midkiff said.

Deputies have not released the name of the other driver involved because he is a juvenile.

Scott Castleman with the University of Charleston says the school is planning to hold a memorial service for Poling. Details are still being worked out.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation. No word yet on what caused the collision.
