MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was able to escape a fire that destroyed her home early Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 900-block of Harrison Street in Milton about 6 a.m. Friday.
The homeowner’s daughter tells WSAZ.com her mom smelled smoke and got out of the house. She said it was a neighbor who called 911.
Family members believe the fire started in the living room, and could be related to a circuit that overloaded and then caught the curtains on fire.
Investigators have not released how the fire started.
The Red Cross was called to help.
The siding on a neighboring house was damaged by the fire.
The Milton Fire Department responded to the fire

There is no word on what caused the fire.
