BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- High water created problems Friday night for motorists throughout parts of Boone County, including on Route 3 just off of U.S. 119, dispatchers say.

As of 11p.m. Friday, Route 3 remained closed in that area until the water subsides.

While signs warned drivers not to drive through the high water, it didn't stop some from trying.

It was a similar situation in Madison, W.Va. The water was just starting to spill over onto the roads when our crews were there, including along Price Branch Road.

Portions of that road were shut down to make sure people stayed safe.
