HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington man faces multiple charges after he allegedly locked his roommate's 1- and 2-year-old children in a bedroom without any water or food for several hours.
Huntington Police have charged Justin Peet, 19, with malicious wounding, child abuse resulting in injury, child neglect resulting in injury, domestic assault and domestic battery, obstructing and disorderly conduct.
Police responded to a domestic dispute in progress at a residence in Marcum Terrace late Saturday night.
According the criminal complaint, once on the scene, the children’s mother told officers that Peet would not allow her into the locked room where the children were. She told police her children had not eaten all day. She also said that Peet beat her and cut her with a knife.
Peet is being held in the Western Regional jail.
