UPDATE: Verdict in Huntington Murder Trial

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WSAZ) – A Maryland man has been convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of a Huntington man nearly two years ago.

Quazaa Farrow, 22, was charged with murder in the shooting death of Mikeal Branch during a fight on July 5, 2012.

The shooting happened at a home in the 1200 block of 18th Street in Huntington. Farrow was arrested in Indiana.

A Cabell County jury convicted Farrow of the lesser charge after deliberating several hours Monday afternoon.

Farrow testified in his own defense on Friday. His trial began on Thursday.

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Testimony is underway in the trial of a man from Maryland charged with a murder in Huntington nearly two years ago.

Quazaa Farrow, 22, is accused of shooting and killing Mikeal Branch during a fight on July 5, 2012.

Police say the shooting happened at a home in the 1200 block of 18th Street in Huntington.

Farrow was arrested in Indiana a month after the alleged murder.

A jury was selected Tuesday.

The trial is expected wrap up Friday.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Jury selection is underway for a man from Maryland charged with a murder in Huntington nearly two years ago.

Quazaa Farrow, 22, is accused of shooting and killing Mikeal Branch on July 5, 2012, at a home in the 1200 block of 18th Street in Huntington.

Police say the shooting happened during a fight between the two men.

Farrow was arrested in Indiana a month after the alleged murder.

Testimony in the trial is expected to begin Thursday and last two days.

Back in January, Judge Alfred Ferguson revoked Farrow's bond and ordered that he stay in jail following a second home confinement violation.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A murder suspect will now stay in jail until his trial after violating home confinement twice.

Quazaa Farrow, 20, of Maryland, is accused of shooting and killing Mikeal Branch on July 5, 2012, in Huntington.

Police say the shooting happened during a fight between the two men.

Farrow was arrested in Indiana a month after the murder.

Friday, during a hearing in Cabell County Circuit Court, Judge Alfred Ferguson revoked Farrow's bond and ordered that he stay in jail following a second home confinement violation on December 21.

The day before (December 20), Ferguson had let Farrow out of jail on home confinement following the initial violation that happened back in September.

Farrow's trial is set for April.
