UPDATE: Woman Killed in Car Crash; Victim's Name Released

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New details have been released about a deadly accident in Jackson County, West Virginia.

West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com a tractor trailer broke down on the side of I-77 near the Goldtown exit Wednesday night.

Troopers say Ellen Bailey was heading in the same direction when she left the traffic lane and slammed into the back of the truck.

Troopers say she was going about 70 miles per hour when she hit the truck.

Bailey died at the scene.

Bailey was 49-years-old and from Ravenswood.

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The northbound lanes of Interstate 77 have since reopened Wednesday night following a two-car crash that killed one person near the Goldtown exit, Jackson County 911 dispatchers say.

The crash was reported about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday near mile-marker 119.

Additional details about the accident were unavailable late Wednesday night.

The crash was reported about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday near mile-marker 119.

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Interstate 77 northbound is closed Wednesday night near the Goldtown exit after an accident, a West Virginia State Police dispatcher said.

That is near mile-marker 119. The crash was reported about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

There is no word on injuries or how many vehicles are involved.
