KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested Tuesday in East Bank after allegedly threatening to kill his ex-wife with a sword, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.
Dennie Lester, 59, of East Bank, is expected to be charged in connection with the incident. He was being evaluated at a hospital on Tuesday.
Just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, deputies said they received a call about a disturbance along Gladys Avenue.
Lester allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife, who is his current girlfriend, as well as himself. Deputies say Lester chased the woman around the yard, got into a pickup truck and rammed her car.
Lester took off and ended up hitting another car head-on in a construction zone on Route 61. Deputies said Lester backed up and tried to drive away, but his truck got stuck on an embankment. Motorists tried to capture him, and deputies caught up with Lester as he was crawling on his hands and knees on nearby railroad tracks.
Deputies said the sword was found in the pickup truck.
