ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man admitted Wednesday to giving his wife a drug that ended up killing her this year.

Todd Honaker pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Honaker gave his 30-year-old wife Renee a synthetic hallucinogen earlier this year that proved fatal.

He was sentenced to a year in jail and given time served. That means Honaker will be out of jail in March.

Another man, Chad Renzleman, was charged with supplying the drugs.

Prosecutors say they expect his case to be taken over by federal investigators.
