Man Pleads Not Guilty to Stealing Car with Baby Inside

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of stealing a car with a baby inside says he is innocent.

Christopher Linville pleaded guilty to child neglect and possession of a stolen car in court on Wednesday morning.

In January, police say Linville jumped in a running car at a gas station on Washington Street East in Charleston.

There was a 10-month-old boy was in a car seat in the back seat.

Linville abandoned the car a short time later. The baby boy was was returned to his mother safely.

Linville's trial has been set for April 14th.

He was ordered to get a mental evaluation before his trial starts.
