JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Friends of a man killed in an ATV accident are speaking out in memory of the victim.
Deputies say Joey Casto died Sunday from his injuries in Saturday’s accident. It happened on Route 21 in Jackson County, just in front of the Southern Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department.
Emergency crews flew Casto to Charleston’s CAMC General Hospital where he died Sunday.
“He's the best brother you could ever have. We're not blood brothers but we're brothers,” said Casto’s best friend James Spangler.
Spangler tells WSAZ.com he and Casto became friends immediately after meeting six years ago. Since then, Spangler says they’ve grown closer than friends.
Deputies say Casto lost control of his ATV and crashed, but they have not said why Casto suddenly lost control.
Spangler tells WSAZ.com, Casto was engaged at the time of his death.
It happened on Saturday night along Route 21 in Kenna.
Deputies tell WSAZ.com, Joey Casto was riding the ATV when he lost control and crashed.
He was flown to the hospital, but died Sunday night.
Deputies aren't sure what caused Casto to crash.
It happened along Route 21 in Kenna about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Firefighters say the man riding the ATV is being flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
The man is 25-years-old, his name has not been released.
