ROSEDALE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A tip about a meth lab bust led to the arrest of a sex offender.

West Virginia State Police went to a home in the 200 block of Walnut Street in Rosedale, W.Va. But didn't find a meth lab.

Instead, they found that the homeowner Dixie Helmic, 35, had fired a pistol at houses in the area. State Police say the pistol was stolen.

Troopers say they did find marijuana and meth in a vehicle at the home.

Helmic was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.

Her boyfriend, David White, 22, of Delbarton, was arrested and charged with several counts including obstructing an officer, providing false information and failing to register with the Sex Offender Registry.

Both are being held in the Central Regional Jail.
