UPDATE: Two Men Arrested in Connection with Charleston Shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery that turned into a shooting.

It happened about 3:20 Sunday morning in the 300 block of Ruffner Avenue on Charleston's east end.

Police arrested Isaiah White, 27, and Shawn Lane, 25. Both men have been charged with malicious wounding and 1st degree robbery.

Police say the victim, James Stewart, 55, allowed the men inside his home to purchase narcotics. Once inside they pulled out a handgun and tried to steal the drugs.

One of the suspects shot Stewart in the chest. He has since undergone surgery and is listed in serious condition.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police were called to Ruffner Avenue in Charleston just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday after one man was shot in the chest.

The incident took place at Wayland Apartments.

Police responded to a man lying on the sidewalk with a single gunshot wound.

He was transported to an area hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Two people were detained at the scene and questioned by police.
