Heroin and Meth Found on Charleston's West Side During Police Raid

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A police raid on a house on Charleston's west end turned up heroin and meth.

Charleston police say it happened at a home in the 600 block of Simms Street Saturday night.

Officers say when they showed up at the house two suspects took off.

Shortly after, officers caught up with Steven Belcher, 43, and arrested him for distributing heroin.

Police say there was also a warrant out for Belcher's arrest in Putnam County for solicitation of a minor online.

The second suspect, Glen Hughes, 29, was also picked up just a couple blocks away.

He was arrested and charged with operating a mobile meth lab.

Charleston police tell WSAZ.com 6 total have been arrested.
