UPDATE: 2 Arrested in Connection with Huntington Shooting, Robbery

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two men wanted in connection with a shooting and robbery in Huntington earlier this month have been arrested in Bluefield, W.Va.

Antonio Ward, 31, and Joseph Scott Reeves, 28, both of Bluefield, were arrested by Bluefield Police during a traffic stop Sunday night.

Huntington Police say the shooting and robbery happened at a house in the 900-block of 13th Street about 1 a.m. on March 2.

Investigators told WSAZ.com the victims met Ward and Reeves men at the house. Once inside, they said the two men robbed the victims.

According to the criminal complaint, during the robbery, John Johnson and Jason Hallman were forced to lay on their stomach and had their hands bound behind them with duct tape.

Police said during the robbery, Ward repeatedly pointed a handgun at the Johnson and Hallman, threatening to shoot them. The criminal complaint says Reeves was armed with a box cutter style knife, and put the blade at the throats of the two men threatening to cut them.

Investigators say as Jonson tried to run out the front door to getaway, Ward fired four shots from his handgun with three of the shots hitting Johnson in the right shoulder.

The complaint indicates that Hallman was cut and required stitches during the incident.

Police said they believed the incident was drug-related.

Ward is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and 2 counts of wanton endangerment. Reeves is charged with kidnapping, unlawful assault, and armed robbery.

Police in Bluefield arrested the men on fugitive from justice warrants. They are expected toe be returned to Huntington in the next couple of days.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A robbery and shooting sent two men to the hospital in Huntington.

Huntington Police tell WSAZ.com the victims met two men at a house in the 900 block of 13th Street just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Once inside, police say the two men robbed the victims.

During the robbery, one of the victims was shot multiple times. He was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

The other victim jumped out of a window trying to get away from the robbers. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.

Police say this is an isolated incident and is believed to be drug-related.

Detectives say they do have a couple of persons of interest in the case.

The victims names are not being released at this time.
