CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Due to hazardous conditions, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has closed all state agencies for Monday.

State employees providing direct support relating to the current weather event should report at their regularly scheduled time, according to a news release.

Kanawha and Putnam county courthouses are also closed.

911 dispatchers say having less traffic on the roads has helped prevent accidents in and around Charleston. Only a few accidents have been reported as of late Monday morning.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Road crews are out working to clear the roads, but 911 dispatchers say conditions continue to be extremely dangerous in and around Charleston.

According to dispatchers, many road crews are reporting that plowing is not keeping up with the snowfall.

Dispatchers are urging the public to stay off the roads if at all possible. Only a few accidents have been reported in and around Charleston. Emergency crews say they believe that's because there is a lot less traffic on the roads.

C.W. Sigman, with Kanawha County Emergency Management, says "if you don't have to be out, stay home. Roads are very slick."

The severe weather conditions have forced county officials to delay the opening of the Kanawha County Courthouse. The courthouse will not open until 10:30 a.m. Monday.

According to a news release, all courthouse employees are asked to delay reporting to work until that time. This delay also affects the Judicial Annex Building.

The Kanawha County Office of Emergency Management is working with Metro 911 to monitor the weather conditions.
