UPDATE 6/20/13 @ 11:45 a.m.
BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two teenagers are facing charges after dozens of school buses were vandalized in Braxton County.
West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old were questioned about the incident Wednesday night.
Police say those teens are accused of spraying fire extinguishers on 30 school buses and then smashing out the windows. They are also accused of damaging the lounge at the school bus garage in Sutton.
Troopers say the damage is estimated to be about $100,000.
Charges will be filed against both teens Friday.
State Police say the vandalism happened sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
The damage could exceed $100,000.
Fire extinguishers found on board were sprayed inside and used to smash windows and windshields, garage director Fritz Deuley said.
Security cameras were torn out of three of the buses.
"I wonder what kind of people we have in our county that would do something like this?" Deuley said. “All they're hurting is the children of the county."
Brenda Wells is the director of Braxton Schools' Curriculum and Support Services. She says this takes away time normally spent on bus maintenance required each summer.
“It's going to hustle us to have our buses up and running for the first day of school," Wells said.
Wells says other county school boards have already contacted them offering to let them use their buses if they're needed for summer programs.
West Virginia State Police say they have suspects in the case.
