CEDAR GROVE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A street sweeper crashed early Tuesday morning, closing a portion of Route 60 in the Cedar Grove area.
The crash happened just after 7:15 a.m.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office tells WSAZ.com that the sweeper slipped off the road and then flipped over an embankment after the driver got too close to the edge of the road.
Deputies say the driver, a state employee, was trapped in the vehicle. He was alert when he was taken to the hospital.
Metro 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that the road was shut down until just after 10 a.m.
The driver's name has not been released.
