Three Cars Totaled by Accused DUI Driver

KANAWHA COOUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of drinking and driving crashed his car into a fence and two parked cars in Cross Lanes.

Daniel Losh is out of jail on bond. He's charged with first offense drinking and driving. Deputies say his blood alcohol level was 0.147 percent.

Deputies say he crashed his car through a metal fence, trees and bushes as well as and totaling two parked cars early Sunday morning. It happened on Doc Bailey Road.

Kaitlyn Wilson, 16, just got her license about one month ago. She also just got a brand new car.

Her car, along with her mom's, were parked in the driveway of their home.

"I heard really loud tires and then it was like 'boom,' like a bomb went off," Wilson said.

That sound was her and her moms cars being totaled.

Deputies say, Losh is the driver responsible. He was arrested on scene, but not before Kaitlyn says, he tried to drive away.

His car was disabled and stuck near a tree stump. Kaitlyn says he was just feet away from hitting her neighbor's house and hitting a room where a baby was sleeping.

She says it's a lesson she's learning from watching her and her family's hard work destroyed before their eyes.

"Don't drink and drive. It's not all about yourself. You have to think about the other people you're hurting when you do it," she said.

The family says there were at least three other people in the car with Losh. No word if any of them were wearing seat belts, but no one was hurt.
