UPDATE: Tornado Warning Expires; Flood Watch Now in Effect

UPDATE 8/31/14 @ 7:10 p.m.
MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A tornado warning for Mingo County expired Sunday evening with no reports of a tornado touchdown nor any damage.

A funnel cloud was reported by an emergency manager at 5:26 p.m. -- about three miles northwest of Myrtle in northern Mingo County.

There is a flash flood watch in effect until midnight for Martin, Floyd, Johnson and Pike Counties in Kentucky.

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A tornado warning has been issued for West Central Mingo County in W.Va.

The warning was issued just after 5:00 p.m. by the National Weather Service.

The NWS' doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Naugatuck, or eight miles southeast of Inez, Ky -- moving east at 20 mph.

The warning is set to last through 5:30 p.m.
