WAYNE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Parents at Wayne High School say the school's football field is in need of a serious overhaul.
Tuesday night a number a parents went to county school board meeting to push for artificial turf at Wayne High School's Pioneer Field. They say the field has become a mud pit.
In fact, the school had to play its semi-final playoff game this year at Huntington High due to the unplayable field.
While funding isn't currently available, all options are being explored by school leaders.
Wayne County voters will go to the polls in May to vote on a bond issue that would provide funding for new buildings.
For now, that plan does not include money for the football team.
