Woman Hit by Train Still in Critical Condition

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is now in critical condition after she was hit by a train in Wayne County Saturday.

Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department says a 19-year-old was walking along the train tracks near James River Road when she was hit.

They say it all happened about 6 p.m.

Firefighters say she was heading westbound on the tracks with her back turned.

CSX and the Wayne County Sheriff's Department are investigating.

The woman was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital with serious injuries to her lower body.

Her name has not been released at this time.
