UPDATE: Charleston Police Release Sketch of Man Wanted in Rape Case

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police have released a composite sketch of a man they believe is connected to a rape that happened earlier this week outside Appalachian Power Park.

The composite sketch is a man with hair past his shoulders. His hair-color is believed to be a silver-gray.

Police believe he is at least 45-years-old, medium height and a medium build.

His eye color is not clear but he weighs between 200-225 lbs.

According to Charleston Police he has tattoos on both of his arms.

Tuesday night an employee of Appalachian Power Park was walking to her car. The man stopped her to ask for change and then raped the woman.

If you recognize the man in the picture Charleston Police want to hear from you.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police say they are looking for a person of interest in connection with an alleged sexual assault that happened outside of Appalachian Power Park late Tuesday night.

The alleged assault happened about 11 p.m. as an employee was walking to her car.

Charleston Police Lt. Steve Cooper says the man stopped the woman and asked her for change.

That's when the alleged assault happened.

The victim went to the hospital as a precaution.

Lt. Cooper tells WSAZ.com they are looking for a man in his 50's with silver, shoulder length hair. The man has tattoos on both arms.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted late Tuesday night outside Appalachian Power Park, Charleston Police say.

Charleston Police Lt. Steve Cooper says the woman, an employee of the park, was walking to her car when she was stopped by a man asking for change. That was about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

That's when police say the woman was assaulted.

Dispatchers now tell WSAZ.com that the woman was granted her request to be transported to a nearby hospital for "precautionary reasons."

It is not known if she sustained injuries during the assault.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating the incident.

Police have not identified a suspect at this time.
