LOUISA, KY (WSAZ) -- Two men charged with robbing a Louisa pharmacy have accepted plea deals in the case.

Police say 41-year-old Marty James and 40-year-old Terry Howard held up Rite Value Pharmacy on Route 644 back in January. Both men are from Louisa.

Investigators say the men got away with Oxycontin and cash. Police say they even took the pharmacists’ truck from the parking lot as their getaway vehicle.

According to a published report, James will be sentenced to 9 years in prison, and Howard will be sentenced to 11 years as part of their plea deals. The men are scheduled to be sentenced in August.

That report also says a third man involved in the hold up did not appear in court. 19-year-old Chase Howard is Terry Howard’s son. If the court decides to accept his plea, he could get five years pretrial diversion.

Investigators say Chase Howard got involved by trying to launder the money that was stolen.

So killing a man gets you one less year than an armed robbery? I don't get it. That other loser got 10 years for the same as murder and only 2 because he was and IS a loser. If it is any consulation, he won't be out 1 year and will screw up and be back in again hopefully for the rest of his miserable losing life. But getting the same as a robber is a bit much. You can't rehab or fix these people.I think he likes being with his kind in jail.

Once again Mr. Gussler has pulled some strings and had the comments on his story removed.Just think if he would have spent more time caring about how his actions affected other people instead of how cool he looks he might not be in this mess. But anyone that knows him can say its always about RICK. Hope he likes his new home!!!!!

Yes, lots of plea bargins. These two probably sold the stuff to the other one that got the plea bargin. You are right....bet they all would test positive for drugs in jail. It's a shame that the court system is so flawed that these people get so little for the bad stuff they do and the pain, heartache and death they bring to others.

One more step to getting this out of the news. Change can happen to people. I only hope the prison is strong enough to change these men who once were productive members of Louisa. The son on the other hand, well 5 years pretrial diversion is a long time for an oxycontin addiction. Sad but true.

Unfortunately there is not any amount of time that will bring Joey back to his family and friends. Some people can change but I am not convinced the current penal system is strong enough to change this repeat offender. Hasn't yet if he's been in jail for all those previous offenses. Drug test him and the rest of them while they are in jail. It might surprise you all how much "fun" they have while incarcerated. My heart goes out to the Kirk family.
