GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – A Greenup County mother was arrested after police said she took her infant along while committing theft and arson.

Kentucky State Police said 22-year-old Erica Robinson, also known as Erica Logan, jeopardized her baby’s life in August by setting a fire at a home to conceal criminal evidence. Robinson faces arson, felony theft and wanton endangerment charges.

Well, I would just like to say that if we are allowed to have an opinion of people then I am just stating mine. Just because I do not agree that she should be locked away forever does not make me a bad person. How would you feel if you were in her shoes? What if she was your "perfect" son or daughter? Would you be defending her then or still saying lock her away forever. None of you truly know this girl as an individual...and therefore could not begin to know of the events and circumstances that led up to this horrible event. I understand she placed her child in danger, but if she had left him at home she would have been facing abadonment charges...If you have always made the best decision 100% of the time then go ahead and judge her, but I know that NO ONE in this world is perfect...one sin is not better than another. This young girl will have to suffer enough knowing what she did was wrong, and living with the fact that she can't see her kids because of a stupid choice she made.

No Kim, it is God's job to be her ultimate judge for eternity. His word tells us we will know people by the fruits they bear. We don't have to guess whether or not what she done was wrong! "Judge not lest ye also be judged" is the most misused scripture reference in the world. It has never meant we are not entitled to an opinion. It means we are not to assume the place of God as their final judge. In that context, we have every right (and responsibility) to point out the wrongs of others for the purpose of correction, not condemnation. There are moral absolutes, whether you want to admit it or not.

I have read the comments and its amazing, how some one could defend her after she ENDANGERED THE LIFE OF AN INNOCENT BABY, yeah she may have been a good person, yeah she made bad choice, but look at the picture (mugshot)she is smiling like nothing is wrong like she didnt do anything wrong geeze. If she needed help why didnt you all try to help her? I know good people who are in jail now that I never thought would be there, just goes to prove that the person you think you know is what they want you to see not who they really are, May god bless this child, bless the family, and may god have mercy on her.

RT7 - DID SHE WORK EVERYDAY? I'M GLAD HER HUSBAND DID! WHAT MAKES THIS EVEN WORSE IS THE FACT THAT THE WORKING,TAX PAYING PEOPLE WILL NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR HER TO SIT IN JAIL BECAUSE OF HER STUPIDITY! YES WE ALL SIN EVERYDAY AND THE ONES OF US WITH SENSE ASK GOD FOR FORGIVENESS, WE DON'T TAKE OUR INFANT CHILDREN WITH US TO COMMITT FELONIES. DOES THE INFANT CHILD DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE OF HER NOT GETTING HELP AND GETTING HIM/HER KILLED THE NEXT TIME? I THINK NOT!!! BUT WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THAT MAKE, MOMMY ONLY MADE A FEW BAD CHOICES.

Posted by: rt7 on Oct 14, 2008 at 07:47 PM
For working citizen her husband works everyday. Just because someone is on welfare that doesn't make them a bad person. We all sin everyday because we are not perfect. Everybody makes right or wrong choices everyday because of our imperfections. She made a few wrong choices. Until she can get help because she is sick right now then I believe she can lead a better life. She deserves that second chance.

Posted by: DONNY on Oct 14, 2008 at 09:31 AM
RT7 - SHE DESERVES TO BE PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, SHE WAS A GOOD PERSON BUT WHAT SHE DID DEFINITELY ISN'T THE WORK OF A GOOD PERSON. MAYBE SHE CAN GET SOME HELP WHILE SHE IS IN PRISON, WHERE SHE DESERVES TO BE FOR TAKING THAT POOR DEFENSELESS INFANT WITH HER TO A ROBBERY AND AN ARSON. NO MATTER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES SHE HAS BEEN THRU IT DOESN'T EXPLAIN ENDANGERING YOUR CHILD THAT WAY, GET REAL PEOPLE!! WORKING CITIZEN - YOU ARE RIGHT SHE NEEDS A JOB BUT IT ISN'T OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE IT TO HER, SHE NEEDS TO GO OUT AND GET ONE AND THEN GO TO WORK WHEN SHE DOES GET IT. MAMA - YOU ARE RIGHT SHE DOESN'T NEED THAT CHILD, I WOULD RECOMMEND THE GRAND PARENTS BUT APPARENTLY MOM DIDN'T LIKE THEM AND SET IT ON FIRE. HOPEFULLY THERE IS A DECENT RELATIVE SOMEWHERE THAT WILL TAKE THIS CHILD AND RAISE IT.

I watched this girl grow up and she has battled alot as a child. She isn't perfect but when someone has a problem they need help. I wished she could'v had the help she really needed because she is good person. We all make mistakes everyday but don't past judgement on her part because no one knows the circumstances she has been through, even though that shouldn't be an excuse for what she did but she truly needs help. I hope she isn't punished for a long time because I feel she could be a better person if given a second chance.

What makes this situation so bad is that the working people, no doubt, support this woman with welfare. Maybe if people were made to be a productive part of society this would not have happened. Give these people something to do. Like a job and a life with responsibilities. Idle hands are the devils workshop. Our wonderful system will have the baby back with her in no time. Then she can continue to show the child how to grow up just like her. When are they going to put a stop to this vicious cycle.

Sadly i beleive this was her parents home. and they have been sick and are good people. Pray for them how hard this would be for them.

Posted by: Mama on Oct 10, 2008 at 09:15 AM
Kim & Anon - It's not really passing judgement. When you have children, you are expected to act in the best interest of the child. You are, and should be, held to a higher standard because you are responsible for that child's life. I am a grandparent of a child that didn't get that message either, so now I raise my grandchild. She needed to put her child first, no matter what situation she was in. Until she can do that, the child needs to be in a different environment and the mother needs to face her charges and get her life together so she can be the mother she should be.

KIM & ANON WAY TO GO WE NEED MORE PEOPLE OUT THERE LIKE YOU ALL. YOU ARE RIGHT IT IS NOT OUR PLACE TO JUDGE, BUT IS IT MOMMY'S PLACE TO ENDANGER THE LIFE OF HER INFANT CHILD WHILE SHE ROBS SOMEPLACE AND DID SHE HAVE A WEAPON WITH HER, OH AND BY THE WAY WHAT ABOUT SETTING THE FIRE, DID SHE HAVE THE INNOCENT INFANT IN HER ARMS OR WAS IT OUTSIDE BY IT'S SELF NOT BEING WATHCED AT ALL. YEAH I THINK ITS ABOUT TIME MOMMY TOOK SOME RESPONSIBILITY IF SHE HAS AN INFANT CHILD MAYBE ITS TIME SHE GETS SOME HELP AND GETS AWAY FROM THE DRUGS AND THE PEOPLE THAT SHE HAS BEEN RUNNING WITH. MAYBE WE SHOULDN'T CARE AND SHOULD JUST LET PEOPLE RUN WILD AND DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WITH THEIR INFANT CHILDREN BUT HOW MUCH MORE DANGER CAN YOU EXPOSE ONE CHILD TO AT ONE TIME THAN ROBBERY AND ARSON, GET REAL PEOPLE THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

WHERE IS DR. PHIL WHEN YOU NEED HIM!SAD FOR THE BABY.

Posted by: Are you serious??? on Oct 9, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Kim... Anon... people like you are the type of people who ENABLE women like this to continue in their distructive lifestyles. She "got mixed up in drugs"... let me guess, someone forced her to take illegal substances huh? And arson? Again, not her fault, huh? I may not have made perfect choices in my life, but I have enough sense to not drag my son out while I steal things and burn down people's houses. What happened to taking responsibility for yourself?

Posted by: pepsidrinker on Oct 9, 2008 at 08:51 PM
i just think people should wake up and relize what there putting there self and the baby through . if you are smart you wouldn't put the baby through the mess your going to do

Posted by: Anon on Oct 9, 2008 at 06:38 PM
I agree with Kim. I don't know this woman, but you people need to stop passing judgement on others. Sometimes difficult situations drive good people to do bad things.

Posted by: someone who cares on Oct 9, 2008 at 04:31 PM
I don't know why people have kids that don't care. people like me who can;t have a baby would love to have one. If you don't want a baby or can't care for one then don't have it.

I think that everyone needs to realize they shouldn't be judging people. I've known this young lady since I was 4 years old. She is in all actuality a very good mother and person. She had just gotten mixed up very bad with drugs. You don't know the whole story only what they put on the news, so don't judge that is God's job.

There's one for the baby book....first robbery and arson!

Posted by: Mitch on Oct 9, 2008 at 10:42 AM
I think the baby may have been more than an innocent victim. I think this "baby" is really a little person and an accomplice in the crime. Maybe they should investigate a little more to get to the truth of the matter.

People in this society should meet a criteria and be granted permission by an investigative board before they are allowed to reproduce: Level of education, criminal background and IQ.
