MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – There were concerns Wednesday that a rural Kentucky community will soon be out of water.

The Magoffin County Water District only has about a three-day supply left. While the area received about half an inch of rain Wednesday, it was not enough to help. County leaders are trying to buy water from neighboring Johnson County. In the meantime, they say it's vital that everyone in Magoffin County conserve water.

Water district officials said the drought and malfunctioning pumps caused the shortage.
