FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson says nearly 3 million residents are registered to vote for the presidential showdown between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.

Grayson says 2.9 million people are on the state's voter rolls for the Nov. 4 general election. He says that's a new state record.

Kentuckians set a previous state record in the May primary with more than 2.8 million people registered. Grayson spokesman Les Fugate says there's been a net increase of nearly 50,000 voters since May.

About 1.7 million people are registered as Democrats and about 1 million Republicans. There are also nearly 191,000 people registered as "other."

McCain is a Bush man. He's going to expand the war efforts. Sarah Palin is just eye candy for the presidency campaign. disgrace really. Who had ever even heard of her? McCain is 800 years old, Obama is going to be a walking target, Palin is not fit to be near the White House, don't know a whole lot about Biden. Point is, this election will be one for the History Books, it's doomed from the beginning!

I am a woman for Obama.That woman Sara Palin is a put down to every woman in the united states.It scares me to even think she would be in the white house.Mccain thought women were dumb and vote for her lol.well the lol is on Mccain.Shes Not No Hillary Clinton.Never Will Be.Obama i cant wait for you to be our next president.Obama/Biden 08.Palin go back to Alaska we dont need you here.

Since I lived in eastern KY. for 20 years, I trust to God loving people to do the right thing. Put a real Patriotic man in the Whitehouse.. speak out against the eveil of the demonic rats. Obama- Osama only one thing different..Osama displays his radical terrorist acts, but Osama tries to hid his.. Farrakhan called him the Messiah on YOu tube.. and even stated that he is Jesus Christ!!! I don't see Kentuckians voting for a Muslim Raghead terrorist like Barack Hussain Obama.. Go MCCain Go Palin.. we will hang on to our religion and our guns.. Thank YOU! Who knows when you may have to shoot an ACORN out of a tree..

As an Obama supporter i am worried to death Mccain is a gop plant to help them get the congress back in 2010 and the have Rock star Palin win a land slide oover Obama and the great depression we are headed to. Its hard to blame the gop when we will controll everything, I can't wait till nov 4 but after that we will be attacked by fox news and the right wing radio for the next 4 years until there chosen one Saraha and the right wingers blame Obama and the democrat congress for the terrible economy we are headed to. Please don't celebrate too early i would rather win a landslide and have a 50 -50 congress so we can have someone too blame God forbid the economy tanks like i think it will.
